Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent embroidered image to commemorative a soldiers’ service. This framed image is for Reservist Fusilier Martin who served with the 4th (Queen Augusta) Guards Grenadiers from 1905 to 1907. The image is in wonderful condition though there is material loss present on the embroidered portions. It is recommended that this stays framed in order to better preserve it for many more years to come.
The soldier is only known to us by his portrait in the center as well as his unit, rank and last name. We conducted some research to see if we can fully identify him but our lack of resources lead us to a dead end. This would be an exceptional research opportunity and with the information provided on the image itself, you at least have a solid starting point!

The 4th (Queen Augusta) Guards Grenadier Regiment (Königin Augusta Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 4) was an infantry regiment of the Royal Prussian Army. It was established in 1860 in Koblenz and until 1893 it was the only one of the Prussian Guards outside the region around the German capital Berlin.
The regiment was named after Queen Augusta in 1890 - to commemorate her death. The Guards moved to Spandau in 1893 and in 1897 to Moabit. Last commander was Walter Freiherr von Schleinitz (1872-1950) in summer 1918.
