Item Description
Original item: Only One available. The bayonet has the standard Swedish M-1914 Rifle bayonet hilt, but instead of the expected 13" double sided blade, this Naval Model has an EXTRA LONG single edged blade with fuller that measures ALMOST 20" in length, overall length almost 25".
Comes complete with its long all steel scabbard that locks onto the bayonet and is freed by pressing the knurled release button at the front of the wood grip. There is an E.A.B. on the ricasso, which is the maker's mark of Erik Anton Berg. There are no proof marks that we can find.
Overall condition is very nice, with just a bit of staining and peppering on the blade. The cross guard with muzzle ring and curved pommel with spring catch are in similar very good condition. The wood grips are solid and secured by the correct screws. The odd hilt design gives away that this is a bayonet designed for a rifle that wasn't originally designed to mount a bayonet. In 1914, M1894 Carbines were altered by the addition of a nose cap that incorporated a bayonet mount. There are dents and wear in the scabbard body as shown, but they do not interfere with the fit of the scabbard.
In overall very good condition, a VERY rare bayonet, ready to display or add to your collection.
