Original Items. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous pair of trench art salt & pepper shakers made in the CBI Theater during World War II. They are made from large caliber rounds with holes stamped in the bullets which have been made hollow and threaded. They can be filled with salt and pepper and could still be used today. As they are made from real rounds, they are Not Available for Export.
The shakers measure 5⅝” tall with a coin base diameter of 1½”. The coins at the base are Chinese Silver Dollars from the 1910s-1920s. The casings are affixed with dragon motifs and are gorgeous. They are both in good functional condition. This is a great set of CBI Trench art ready for further research and display.
