New Made Item. Known variously as the watch cap, knit cap, skullcap, or beanie, this version of the classic watch cap was officially known as the A4. The design is similar to the "Jeep" hat, however it has no visor, which could get in the way in some circumstances. These are made of knit wool, and were originally intended for USAAF mechanics. However, these were often "acquired" by air crewmen and other individuals, which resulted in them becoming somewhat ubiquitous throughout the armed forces.
