Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely German wind up toy Wehrmacht Searchlight truck from the WWII period, made by O&M Haußer from tinplate steel. They made a whole variety of these well made trucks, and this example has a lovely lithograph camouflage paint jog, which is very well retained. The truck measures 9 5/8"L x 5 1/4"W x 3 3/8"W, and features 6 wheels, with a large searchlight on the rear. As with many German toys of the time, it actually is functional, with a real flashlight bulb in the searchlight, which would be powered by a battery in the compartment underneath. It uses the exact same type of battery as used in German military issue flashlights.
The 2nd row of wheels on the model truck are attached to some type of winding mechanism, would up using a square rod on the lower left side of the truck. We unfortunately do not have the winding key, nor do we have the proper battery to test the searchlight.
