Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a standard issue brown leather hardshell P-08 holster, which was used by German forces during WWII. Most Luger holsters since late WWI in 1916 had been black, but they were still produced in brown for various units who utilized brown leather.
The holster is not marked on the back with the standard “P.08” designation on the upper right, but this is not uncommon. It is however maker marked over the left belt loop:
GENSCHOW & CO. A.G.
1940
BERLIN
Next to this is the Waffenamt Eagle over faint inspector number WaA286.
The overall condition of the holster is very good, with the leather still supple, and all parts intact and still attached. All of the stitching is still solid, though age and wear have stained the white stitching a dark brown color. There is an intact take down tool storage compartment on the inner lid, which is often removed. There is even an original take down tool in the pocket, which definitely shows wear from service, with the finish now worn with past peppering and oxidation. The exterior of the holster still retains the finish well, with just a few areas of wear through, and the back looks a bit brown due to overall wear.
A really nice holster that will complete any WWII Era P08 Luger pistol. Ready to display or use!
