Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous example of a WWI-inspired desk display of a French Renault FT light tank climbing a trench, with a still-rotating turret! This is a design we have seen a couple of times before, but this is the first example we have ever been able to offer! There is a small plaque on the front of the piece engraved to JAMES P. BISHOP, who was likely a soldier who fought in the war and either had this made or had it gifted to him. The set is complete with a French Armored Adrian helmet on the right side, which is hinged to hide the inkwell underneath.
The entire piece measures 7 x 4 x 4” and is in great working condition. The only noticeable issue is that some of the glass of the inkwell has broken off, but this isn’t a huge issue. The silver paint of the set is wearing in all the right places to emphasize the smaller details of the piece. These sets usually have an infantry helmet, so it’s a rare treat to find one with an Armored helmet. The tank is also incredibly detailed, when most of these are typical one-piece cast, this one has hollow treads and a moving turret! The piece does not lay completely flat and could use some TLC.
A really phenomenal inkwell set that will fit perfectly on your desk or in your collection! Comes ready for further research and display!
