Original Item: Only One Available. As with most NVA weapons and equipment, they were supplied by China and the Soviet Union. However, not all of their equipment was supplied by their Communist allies, they had their own in country made items and they’re often referred to as being “Hanoi Made”. This rucksack is a solid example of a Hanoi made one. This beautiful 3 pocket design was likely brought home by an American soldier after his rotation in Vietnam.

The rucksack is lightweight in design and frameless. These packs are often seen in two styles, one with 2 pockets and a larger one with 3. This example has 3 pockets on the front, unlike this one which has 2 pockets with the larger main pouch. The design is very similar to the ChiCom rucksack and definitely was a strong influence on this one.

The condition is excellent and does show signs of wear and use but has some small holes across the rucksack from use. All buckles and straps appear to be intact as well as functional with minor rust present on the steel buckles.

Not too much is known about these packs, so if you are interested in collecting rather obscure items then this one is for you! Comes more than ready for display.

The People's Army of Vietnam, also known as the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) or the Vietnamese Army, is the military force of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The PAVN is a part of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces and includes: Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, Border Guard & Coast Guard. However, Vietnam does not have a separate Ground Force or Army branch. All ground troops, army corps, military districts and specialized arms belong to the Ministry of Defense, directly under the command of the Central Military Commission, the Minister of Defense, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. The military flag of the PAVN is the flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with the words Quyết thắng (Determination to win) added in yellow at the top left.

During the French Indochina War (1946–1954), the PAVN was often referred to as the Việt Minh. In the context of the Vietnam War (1955–1975), the army was referred to as the North Vietnamese Army (NVA). This allowed writers, the U.S. military, and the general public, to distinguish northern communists from the southern communists, called Viet Cong or National Liberation Front. However, both groups ultimately worked under the same command structure. The Viet Cong had its own military forces called the Liberation Army of South Vietnam (LASV). It was considered a branch of the PAVN by the North Vietnamese. In 2010, the PAVN undertook the role of leading the 1,000th Anniversary Parade in Hanoi by performing their biggest parade in history.
