Original German WWII American G.I. Tinnie & Badge Display Sheet - 42 Pieces Total

Item Description

Original Items. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous sheet of German tinnies, badges, and pendants collected by an American soldier at the end of World War II, with every piece numbered below, with 42 pieces total.

There are a myriad of different pieces made of different materials including metal, plastic, and tin. Some depict flags and may just have been German civilian pieces, with many of the military pieces having markings on the back, some with RZM markings.
This is a fantastic display board worthy of further research. There is a name scribbled in the bottom right corner, Bob something… although this could’ve been written later.

The sheet measures roughly 10 x 22” when laid out. The pieces are all pinned on and those without pins are pinned on with clothespins. This is a really tremendous and unique piece, ready for further research and display!

"Tinnies" (Veranstaltungsabzeichen - Event Badges) are small commemorative pins or medals, acquired when one attended a specific event held in Germany. They were often made of thin stamped metal, bakelite, or even pressed paper. Many of these were given out as part of the WHW (Winterhilfswerk - Winter Help Work) Organization, which often involved Germans traveling quite a bit to help out the war effort.
