Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show, is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner. The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.
The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a black swas (hook cross) sewn on on a white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. Around this is a stitched on light canvas square white border, however unlike most we see, there is no white fringe on the bottom. It measures 39" x 31", and has a hemmed hanger sleeve at the top.
The banner is offered in very good service used condition, looking to have seen moderate use during the NSDAP period. There are some small holes and tears, as well as light staining. The colors are however still very vibrant, and there is even a faded issue stamp on the white circle, which is unfortunately to faded to read. The stitching is all secure, as far as we can tell.
