Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a great Japanese wall or desk mounted battleship gray paint finish metal telephone with a locking receiver to keep it in place on a rolling ship or submarine. The phone was captured by an American soldier who scratched his name, date, and location of capture on the receiver, BUSTER 1944 SAIPAN.
There is a nomenclature data plate mounted to the body of the casing and triple hub that connects a speaking horn and two receivers. The rubber cord has been cut and is absent completely. Internals all seem to be present. A great display piece and very well made. Japanese Imperial Navy items are very difficult to find.
This is a fantastic capture piece that requires more research. Comes ready for further research and display!
