Item Description
Original Item: Very Few Available. These are third Model Brown Bess Flintlock Swan Neck Hammers (cocks) with top jaw and screw dating from circa 1790 to 1810.
These are absolutely 100% original English manufacture, supplied to the British East India Company at the close of the 18th Century. Found in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2003, these were "left over" from British Brown Bess Muskets converted to percussion cap system in 1839.
These are the earlier style Swan Necked Hammers with vertical post around which the top jaw locates. Regrettably we have none of the earlier Flintlock hammers with the "leaf" top jaw support as used on First and some Second Model Brown Bess Muskets.
These Flintlock hammers come complete with top jaw and screw and are 100% original not newly made reproductions.
Offered just as we found them in uncleaned and untouched condition. Each is inspected to be very solid but will be covered in surface rust and grime, but will be free of major defects (such as cracks).
