Original Item: Only One Available. This an lovely example of a WWII German Kriegsmarine Navy Flotillenstandard (Flotilla Standard or Pennant). These were one of many command flags used by the Kriegsmarine while vessels were underway, or even when they were still in the yard, where it would be called a "group pennant". The Flotilla Pennant indicated that the command officer of the flotilla was onboard the ship, but held a rank of less than Kommodore, who like Admiral ranks had a specific command flag.

It feels like it is made from a wool or wool cotton blend body, with a canvas header surrounding a halyard rope, which has a loop on the top end, and a knotted loop on the bottom. The design features a printed Kriegsmarine Navy black Tatzenkreuz (cross pattée) with a white border, used in conjunction with various devices and flag shapes to denote which ship held command in a formation. It still has a faint designation of the flag type on the leader, which reads Flotillenstd. 1.0X1.4, indicating a Flotilla Standard measuring 1.0 x 1.4m.

This example is in good condition, showing age toning overall, along with a bit of light staining. There are some small tears and holes from service and storage, but no major damage or mothing. This has given it a fantastic "been there" look.
