Original German WWII NSDAP National Socialist Pennant Flag - 14" x 16"

Regular price $295.00

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice service German WWII NSDAP National Socialist Wimpel (Pennant) Flag, which looks to have seen only light service during the third reich period. During the WWII era the NSDAP was very committed to the use of flags and other symbols to solidify their influence in the country.

The pennant is of multi-piece construction, doubled sided with sewn on white circles bearing printed swas emblems on each side. The pennant measures about 14" in hoist and 16" in fly, and has a tan and yellow canvas header with a sewn in lanyard to attach it. This could have been attached to any number of different structures, and still retains a good amount of halyard rope on either side of the header. The colors are still very well retained, and there is some fraying and small tears in the fabric.

A very nice German WWII NSDAP pennant, ready to add to your collection!

The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.

The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

The National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) was a paramilitary organization of the NSDAP that officially existed from May 1931 to 1945. The group was a successor organisation to the older National Socialist Automobile Corps (NSAK), which had existed since April 1930.

The NSKK served as a training organization, mainly instructing members in the operation and maintenance of high-performance motorcycles and automobiles. The NSKK was further used to transport NSDAP and SA officials/members. The NSKK also served as a roadside assistance group in the mid-1930s, comparable to the modern-day American Automobile Association or the British Automobile Association. The outbreak of World War II in Europe caused the NSKK ranks to be recruited to serve in the transport corps of various German military branches. There was also a French section of the NSKK, which was organised after the German occupation of France began in 1940. The NSKK was the smallest of the NSDAP Party organizations.
