Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a pre-WWI Saxon Police NCO sword with its original scabbard.
The blade is etched with the name of the maker:
ALEXANDER COPPEL
SOLINGEN
The blade ricasso is marked with A (Scale Logo) C over S, indicating manufacture by Alexander Coppel & Co. located in the legendary "City of Blades", Solingen. This company manufactured bayonets for many years and up through WWII under the name Alcoso.
The blade appears to have been sharpened and has a great bright finish. The red felt blade washer is still partially intact but it is very weak. The hilt is in fair shape with the wooden grip having lost most of its finish.
The brass-mounted leather scabbard is in fair shape but the end chape is missing the wire on one side, and the leather has lost some of its finish. A great example, ready for further research and display.
