Item Description
Original Item: Only one available. This is a very nice Great War Imperial German Field Cap (Feldmütze or Krätzche). It is a very late war example, made of course, cellulose (wood pulp) rich, ersatz Feldgrau wool. The front of the cap bears a Black, White and Red Reichskokarde (Imperial Cockade) on the front of the crown which has two prongs visible on the interior. There is no state cockade on this example.
The cap is in very good used condition, with the expected wear and tear from having been through The Great War. There is some obvious moth damage, and slight discoloration, but it still presents very well. The interior lining is in fair shape with heavy sweatstaining and staining from age, with any depot markings long gone. A very good honest example made from an ersatz material. It is getting very difficult to find these late war examples. Size is approximately US 7 (56cm).
A wonderful text book genuine example, and one of the very few of these super late war Feldmutzes we have ever encountered!
