Original Soviet Cold War Inert PMN-1 Anti-Personnel Mine - Romanian Made - Dated 1972

Regular price $195.00

Item Description

Original Items. Only One Available. This is a nice example of a Romanian-made PMN-1 Anti-Personnel Mine. The PMN (Rus. противопехотная мина нажимная (En: "antipersonnel pressure mine")) series of blast anti-personnel mines were designed by the Soviet Union but also contracted out to some other countries. They are one of the most widely used and commonly found devices during demining operations. They are sometimes nicknamed "black widow" because of their dark casings.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

This example is Romanian-made, and has its original rubber shipping cover. The mine measures roughly 5¾ x 4 x 2⅜” with the cap on. The mine does not retain its pin.

The markings on the side of the mine read GYATA-64 33-2-72, which we believe indicates manufacture in 1972. There is some wear on the top and side as shown. A very nice example, ready for further research and display.
