Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Colt M16A2 Military issue non-functional RUBBER DUCK training and parade rifle. Features genuine M4 metal barrel, muzzle brake, front sight, and other components, all coated in rubber with resin construction. It looks like there is a metal support going into the butt stock, and the resin has shrunk over the years, causing cracks to appear at the front of the "receiver", and also on the left side of the butt stock. At some point, the end of the butt stock was cut off as well, possibly to repair another "rubber duck". We have not had an M4 Rubber duck that had an original barrel, and in large these are far rarer than the full size M16A1 and M16A2 rubber ducks.

The military calls these rifles Rubber Ducks. This is an actual military issue trainer designed to be the correct weight and size of an M4 Carbine. They are made from decommissioned M4 parts, which were then used during the molding process. Markings on these varied, and many had markings removed or changed while in service. This example is marked on the magazine well:

(Colt Horse Logo)
PROPERTY
OF U.S. GOVT.
M4 CARBINE
CAL. 5.56MM

There are additional markings around the selector switch, which are somewhat worn:

COLT'S MFG. CO. INC.
HARTFORD, CONN.
----- U. S. A. -----

We do not see any production information indicating what TSC / TASC produced it, but that information may have been on the removed portion of the butt stock. The M4 Carbine definitely does show signs of use, but certainly looks the business. This would like great hanging from a wall!

The M16 rifle, officially designated Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16, is a United States military adaptation of the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle. The original M16 was a select-fire, 5.56×45mm rifle with a 20-round magazine.

The M4 carbine is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle. The M4 is a 5.56×45mm NATO, air-cooled, direct impingement gas-operated, magazine-fed carbine. It has a 14.5 in (370 mm) barrel and a telescoping stock.

The M4 carbine is extensively used by the United States Armed Forces and is largely replacing the M16 rifle in United States Army and United States Marine Corps combat units as the primary infantry weapon and service rifle.

The M4 is also capable of mounting the M203 and M320 grenade launchers. The distinctive step in its barrel is for mounting the M203 with the standard hardware. The M4 has semi-automatic and three-round burst firing modes (like the M16A2 and M16A4), while the M4A1 has semi-automatic and fully automatic firing modes (like the M16A1 and M16A3).
