Officially called the SURVIVAL KIT, INDIVIDUAL OPERATIONAL PACKET, this was issued to Special Forces personnel during the Vietnam conflict, and contains a variety of first aid and medication items. These were specifically designed to work in the Hot and Wet climate in the Vietnam Jungle, and contain items such as Salt Tabs to prevent excessive sweating. They also contain items like insect repellant, water purifier, fungicides, and more.
The kit is in its original belt pouch and is a later issue in its plastic container stamped with directions for all of its contents.
A great and scarce bit of Vietnam militaria, very hard to find and ready to display!
