Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a fantastic named grouping to a WWII Paratrooper acquired directly from the family of the veteran, 1st Sergeant Michael J. Kerley, 127th Parachute & Glider Infantry Regiment which became the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion.

The grouping includes:
-Kerley’s Parachute School Graduation Certificate dated March 16th, 1945. Named to Pvt. Michael J. Kerley SN: 38022323. Folded multiple times as shown.
-Kerley’s 1st Sergeant chevrons.
-Kerley’s 11th Airborne patch with the banner sewn directly to the shield.
-Kerley’s Sterling marked Parachute Wings he received alongside his certificate, pin-back.
-Kerley’s CIB (Combat Infantry Badge) marked STERLING, with a bit of tarnishing to the finish, both pins retained.

Michael J. Kerley was born on June 22nd, 1919 and enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 12th, 1944 and was sent to Parachute School. Once he graduated in March 1945, he went overseas where he saw combat with the 11th Airborne. He was honorably discharged on February 10th, 1946, and lived in Oklahoma until his untimely death on December 24th, 1949.
