Original U.S. WWII Captured German “Enemy Engineer Device” with Capture Paperwork - Captain Henry C. Paul Jr.

Regular price $395.00

Item Description

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a very interesting German engineering device which was captured and brought back to the United States by Captain Henry C. Paul Jr., Corps of Engineers. We haven’t found anything on his service, making this a great research project. The device, which we believe to be a level, was manufactured by Siemens & Halske of Berlin, a company still existing well into the 1960s. The device has a large slot in the bottom for a battery, and comes in its original carrying case with belt loops.

The certificate states that on March 27th, 1945, Captain Henry C. Paul Jr. examined the items he brought back, including “Enemy Engineer Devices”. The device is marked 14990 on the side, and PBT4 on the bottom. The original case is in great shape and retains its original leather securing strap. The device measures roughly 5½” with a 2” base diameter.

A great set ready for further research and display.
