Original Items. Only One Set Available. This is a great set of five wartime manufactured toy tanks. Pre-war toys were much more intricate and well-designed but these ones are made with surplus materials and truly represent an era of rationing & subpar construction.
The toys in this lot include:
-Intricate “M.12” model tin tank with real rubber treads and a great paint job. Still works fine, has a small lever the purpose of which is unknown. Marked on the back Trademark Modern Toys JAPAN. Measures roughly 7½ x 4 x 4”.
-Small brown wooden tank with rotating gun turret. Painted on treads with wheels underneath that allow it to roll. Nice example. 7½ x 3½ x 3”.
-Green wooden tank with stars painted and star stickers, rotating removable gun barrel and U.S.A. painted on side. Non-moving treads painted. 10 x 4 x 5”.
-Larger wooden green painted tank with painted yellow treads and rotating gun barrel. This example has some splitting to the wood in places. Very crudely made. 12 x 5½ x 6”.
-Interesting wooden tank painted green with large rotating and removable gun barrel. Tank has 4 wheels shaped like treads with a metal band that hits against the wheel when the tank is moved giving the impression of a tank moving, a really creative piece of work. 9 x 4½ x 4”.
This is a really phenomenal lot of toy tanks perfect for any collection, ready for further research and display.
