Original Item: Only One Available. This is a stellar Vietnam War NVA/VC issue grenade with the head being a pineapple style. The shaft is removable and the bottom cap of the grenade is missing, as is common with these. These are becoming increasingly more difficult to find. It also has wire still wrapped around the shaft with a small string attached. Like all deactivated ordnance, this grenade is Not Available for Export.
A standard of the Vietnam War, this is the typical pattern of NVA / VC short-handle "pineapple" body stick fragmentation grenade. The grenade is in fine to excellent condition, with both the body and stick very clean. The body is attached to the stick with 4 nails, which are possibly post deactivation replacements. The stick retains the wooden plug, which is often lost, and still has the wax sealant. Part of the bottom cap is broken off, most likely from being dropped or an attempt to remove the plug. There are also some faded arsenal markings on the end of the stick.
The grenade measures 6 inches in overall length. This is a scarce example to find, and comes ready for further research and display.
