Item Description
Custom Made Replica Item with New Made Tripod: Very Few Available. The Browning 1919A4 was the definitive U.S. MG of WWII. The M1919 Browning is a .30 caliber medium machine gun that was widely used during the 20th century. The U.S. and many other countries used it as a light infantry, coaxial, mounted, aircraft, and anti-aircraft machine gun, especially during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Although it began to be superseded by newer designs in the later half of the century (such as by the M60 machine gun), it remained in use in many North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries and elsewhere for much longer. It is very similar in design to the larger .50 in (12.7 mm) M2 Machine Gun, the "Ma Deuce", which is also a Browning-designed weapon and is still in NATO service.
We have received a small number of these fine totally inert non-firing replica Browning .30cal M1919A4 machine guns, custom fabricated manufactured from steel, with a few aluminum components. It is a full size 1:1 ratio replica. This is a 100% from the ground up fabrication, and no parts are compatible with a real M1919A4. This display cannot be made to chamber nor fire a round, and has no internal components. The top cover does open and the cocking handle can be moved back and forth, with an internal spring pulling it forward. They are quite lightweight, weighing only about 13lbs, and will look look great in any display setting.
Each of these comes with one of our New Made Complete M2 Tripods, with both the pintle and T&E, as well as a short length of dummy ammo. Please note that as there is no feed mechanism in the replica gun, the ammo cannot lock into place.
A great looking set and a very economical way to fill a hole in your collection!
The M1919 was an air-cooled development of the standard US machine gun of World War I, the John M. Browning-designed water-cooled M1917. The emergence of general-purpose machine guns in the 1950s pushed the M1919 into secondary roles in many cases, especially after the arrival of the M60 in US Army service. The United States Navy also converted many to 7.62 mm NATO, and designated them Mk 21 Mod 0; they were commonly used on riverine craft in the 1960s and 1970s in Vietnam. Many NATO countries also converted their examples to 7.62 mm caliber, and these remained in service well into the 1990s, as well as up to the present day in some countries.
