Item Description
Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a lovely set of three original Soviet WWII badges & medals, the first being an “Excellent Torpedo Operator” badge, the second being a wartime issued Medal “For Courage” / “For Valour”, and the third being a wartime issued Leningrad Medal. All pieces are in fair condition and display very well.
The “Excellent Torpedo Operator” badge is in excellent, well above average condition with all details crisp and relatively light overall wear. The red and white enamels are without repairs and show a great patina. The back washer retains the maker’s markings, W.M.3. H.K.∏.C.. A great example, measuring 1½ x 1⅞”.
The Medal “For Courage” was awarded to soldiers of the Soviet Army, Navy, border and internal troops and other citizens of the USSR, as well as to persons who are not citizens of the USSR, for personal courage and bravery displayed in battles against the enemies of the socialist fatherland, while protecting the state border of the USSR, during the performance of military duties in circumstances involving a risk to life. This example has a great patina and retains the ribbon well. The back of the medal is serial numbered 2510064.
The Medal "For the Defence of Leningrad" was awarded to all participants in the defense of Leningrad - soldiers of the Red Army, Navy and troops of the NKVD, and also to the persons from the civilian population who took part in the defense of Leningrad during its siege by German forces. This example is very worn with the ribbon very faded. The medal is a bit tarnished on the reverse. A very nice example.
This is a really great set of Soviet medals and badges, ready for further research and display.
