Original U.S. WWII Custom M1917 Enfield Bayonet Knuckle Duster Fighting Knife As Seen in Book Signed By Author - Page 299

Item Description

Original Item: One-Of-A-Kind. This is a beautiful example of a converted Remington M1917 bayonet into a more aggressive “trench” knife! As seen in the fantastic book Knuckle Knives of the Second World War by Greg Aloisio on page 299, this knife is a custom made cast fighting knife with an absolutely beautiful cut down First Pattern Scabbard. The author used this knife as a specimen for his wonderful book and even signed the page where the knife is featured. The signed copy of the book accompanies the purchase of this knife.

This bayonet was cut down, reshaped and fitted to a cast aluminum handle. The handle was sand cast using a handle from the famed M1918 Mk 1 trench knife and even has the markings! The right side of the handle has U.S.1918 / LF&C - 1918 cast into the aluminum. The scabbard is a cut down first pattern. Features a green painted leather body with metal throat and chap. First pattern with the leather mounting pad holding the 1910 belt hook, riveted to a rectangular metal base attached to the scabbard throat.

The overall condition is absolutely beautiful and still looks as if it was just made! This is truly a wonderful example of just how resourceful a man at war can be. Comes ready for display and further research.
