Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. When the CPV first crossed the Yalu they wore quilted and padded winter uniforms. These were worn until the first spring then were discarded. During the second winter they wore only padded uniforms. As a result of having been worn only one winter and very few padded quilted uniforms having been brought home from the first Korean War Winter, these uniforms are very scarce.
This is a fantastic example of a Chinese-manufactured padded jacket & summer field cap used by Chinese and Korean troops during the Korean War. The jacket has five large buttons on the front which are well-retained. There are no markings on the jacket we can find. This jacket is a great research project as there is likely a name written here.
The included summer cap is in great shape with the sweatband heavily worn without much finish left. The number 195535 is stamped in the hat. The hat is roughly size 7.
This is a really scarce uniform set, one of the scarcest Korean War sets we have offered. ChiCom items from this period are always scarce, so don’t miss out.
