Original Items. Only One Collection Available. This is quite possibly the greatest French button collection out there. This collection consists of twelve boards which appear to be stapled-together manilla folders, with buttons affixed to each. 11 out of the 12 boards have identification for the buttons under each set, with the 12th board just having the buttons displayed in rows without identification. There are 242 buttons total, give or take a few. There are about 10 buttons which have come off of the boards, but the rest are retained.

The buttons include the normal style French buttons but also include some incredibly scarce examples, some of which we have never even heard of.

Some of the rarer buttons include Lighthouse Keeper buttons, Chars D’Assault buttons, Military Food Officer buttons, Republican Guards buttons, Custom Officials buttons, Madagascar Colonial Officials buttons, Naval Ballonist buttons, Railroad Station Master buttons, Military nurses buttons, Penitentiary Official buttons, Chargeurs Reunis buttons, Interpreter buttons, Indigenous Interpreter buttons, Powder Officer buttons, Moroccan Police buttons, Prefecture buttons, Firemen of Paris buttons, Military Telegraphist buttons, Ballonist buttons, Riding Academy buttons, Expeditionnaire Principal buttons, French Guiana buttons, Product Inspector buttons, and Ivory Coast Official buttons.

There is an unprecedented amount of research to be done on these buttons. We have never seen a set quite like it, and you would be hard-pressed to find some of these buttons on the market today.

One of the greatest military button collections we have seen. Some of the display boards are very worn and could use replacement, but overall it is a great set. Comes ready for further research and display.
