Item Description
Original Items. Only One Set Available. This is a nice Spanish-American War era set of a front & rear skirt for use by a cavalryman. The skirts each measure 34½ x 16” when laid out, and each are in fair condition for their age. The leather is crazing and cracking a bit but they are both solid pieces.
All four U.S. rosettes are intact, and each skirt has a personalization that matches the set together. Large brass letters B F and & are affixed next to the rosettes, with H. HOK spelled out in embossed stars. We are unsure what this personalization indicates, but it’s likely the man’s initials or name. There isn’t enough to go off of for research, but the set is certainly period correct. Many of the brass tacks have verdigris, but they all appear to be intact.
A great matching set of Spanish-American War era horse skirts, ready for further research and display.
