Original Item: Officially issued to front line troops in WWI these gallon size glazed earthenware jugs contained the strongest syrup type Rum that needed to be diluted with water to be drinkable. Soldiers were issued a daily "TOT". Rum was also liberally issued before "Going over the Top" to give troops some liquid courage. Each Jug is marked "S.R.D" for "Supply Reserve Depot" but referred to by the troops as "Seldom Reaches Destination" and "Soon Runs Dry". Wonderful original excellent condition, each jug also bears makers markings on the bottom. Regrettably only offered empty!
