Item Description
Original Item: One of a Kind. This is a seldom find piece on the collector’s market today; a small booklet which served as a combination Identity document/ award certificate holder and manual for a female typist who was a member of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. This is the first one of these we have ever seen! Erika Bothlig was a young woman who was a member of the German Stenographer’s Association who was employed as a uniformed member of the D.R. starting in 1935.
The booklet measures approximately 6 ¼” x 4 ½”. Inside the front cover of the booklet is Bothlig’s Identification certificate along with an official photograph of her in her Reichsbahn uniform. The additional pages include 5 printed pages regarding her section work responsibilities within her Reichsbahn section, followed by a section consisting of achievement certificates and awards (approximately 10 award pages), followed by a certificate for membership in the German Stenographer’s Association, and an additional Ausweis.
One of Bothlig’s DR Collar Tabs is included as well.
WWII German Female military personnel items are incredibly scarce. This is the very first time we have had one of these booklets to offer. Ready for display!
