Original Item: One-of-a-kind. Original traditional battle hammer or war club from the Pacific Islands/Polynesia. Museum quality ethnographic piece. Similar examples from the Islands of Tonga and Samoa. Made of carved native wood in a characteristic 3-d 'diamond' shape. An original antique piece from the late 19th century. Measurements: Approx. 26" x 7"
During WW2 Samoa was located too far South to have actually have been invaded by the Japanese so the U.S. installed a large Marine Corp Training camp there. This is what is known as a bring back by a USMC soldier as it is stamped-
