Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice Australian Victoria Police Force helmet, which bears the "King's Crown" of King George VI on the top of the badge. He reigned from 1936 to 1952, and was the monarch for all of WWII. This example is clearly post WWII, having all mounts chrome plated, so dating from the late 1940's to very early 1950's.
This is a Light fiber helmet shell in white, with blue and white double banded puggaree, and the usual green fabric on the underside. The helmet plate is marked POLICE FORCE / VICTORIA, over a banner reading TENEZ LE DROIT (Uphold the right), the motto of the Victoria Police. Below this is issue number 1244.
The condition is still quite nice for display. The internal liner looks to be a later replacement, which unfortunately has broken over the years. It still however has the original black patent leather chin strap, which is now in delicate condition.
A very nice example, ready to add to your Police collection!
