Original Item: Only One Available. Fine condition British Royal Marine Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet from before World War Two. The Wolseley pattern helmet has been the standard dress headgear for the Royal Marines, featuring a ball on top, a distinction once standard for artillerymen. This derives from the part of the Corps that was once the Royal Marine Artillery. Size 7. Original gilt helmet badge with motto (PER TERRAM PER MARE) and Gibraltar. The top ball in brass with ornate leaf pattern. The chin strap is brass chain with a leather backing. The interior sweat band is supple leather. Green cloth lining. Overall condition is very good.
