Item Description
Original Item: One Only. Dating to the 1950s or 1960s, this is the "Old style" Bobby helmet using the "ROSE" top mount, which was later replaced by the Comb top mount. This helmet, which unfortunately has lost its chin strap, is lined in cork, now with much missing, on the interior to combat the summer heat.
It retains its original faux-leather type head band and canvas suspension straps. It also displays the Manufacturer's details inside:

The enameled silver type Helmet plate bears the Heraldic Shield of the County of SOMERSET constabulary, in the striking colors of Blue and Red.
