Original British Royal Air Force RAF Named Squadron Leader Uniform

Item Description

Original Items: One-of-a-kind. This is a Tailor-made Battle Dress Uniform set that belonged to RAF Squadron Leader E.M. Hook. We found one historical reference in SERVICE AVIATION publication from March 21st, 1940. On page 267 he is mentioned when he was promoted to Pilot Officer on October 19, 1939 as a member of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

Included in this high quality uniform set is are the following:

- Blue wool RAF officer tunic marked to the rank of Squadron Leader. Approximates size US 40 offered in very good condition. Features embroidered RAF wings, and medal ribbons for British War Medal and Victory Medal which indicates he also saw service during WWI. Internal chest pocket bears tailor label from WILL HILL of Nottingham and is ink marked with date 12/1/42 14905 S/L E.M. HOOK.

- Wonderful RAF Officers peaked visor cap of exceptional quality. Marked on interior green wool crown: Bates Hatter of 21 Jermyn St, St. James London then again in gold on leather sweatband. Overall condition is very good. The sweatband is punched with initials C.E.H indicating it was reissued to Hook at some point during the war as the name HOOK also appears in ink on the underside of the sweatband.

Overall a very nice hard to find Royal Air Force Squadron leader uniform from the early part of World War Two offered in very good condition.
