Original Item: Birmingham Small Arms Company was the largest contractor to the government manufacturing Enfield rifles. BSA output was only exceeded by government factories. BSA had its own inspection office, and its distinguishing symbol is a capital italic letter B. The base is marked with the crown, an inspector’s identity number, and the italic B. It also has the Ordnance broad arrow.
