Only One Set Available: This is an excellent condition complete fighter pilot set from World War Two which consists of the following items:
Original WWII British RAF Royal Air Force Type D Flying Helmet.
Excellent condition RAF D-Type Tropical Flying Helmet with internal wiring loom, Air Ministry stamped Ref No. 22C/970. Constructed of tan cotton fabric outer with neck flap, inside lined with white silk, and is complete with elastic chin strap. The helmet has an excellent internal wiring loom with jack plug and a pair of type C-3 10A/3698 receivers. Offered in excellent condition.
Original WWII British RAF Royal Air Force Type E* Oxygen Mask with hose and fittings. The Type E* (Type E Star) oxygen mask (sometimes referred to as the Type F) was an upgraded version of the Type E. The Type E was the first rubber oxygen mask to be supplied by the British Air Ministry, in 1941, (predecessor, Type D) Markings on the mask are Stores Ref. 10A/12570 (on the front of the mask). R.M 4084/2 A.M R.E.F No 60/473. with and ink stamp - 9298 (all the top front edge of the mask) This is the a variant of the E-mask complete with SCARCE anti-suffocation/inspiratory valve and having an elasticated webbing harness in place of the earlier leather types. The rubber is in excellent condition . The majority of the mask edges are excellent and are complete, the overall shape is excellent as well. The rubber remains very pliable. Air Ministry contract markings are evident in the face piece molding. The chamois inner edging is complete and very clean. The conical tube at the base of the face piece remains in place and is also in excellent condition, complete with alloy pipe/valve within. The webbing harness is complete and retains most all of its color and is still very elastic. The the three press studs all have the original finish. Fitted with a type microphone assembly (10A/13468 and long plug) and anti-freeze inner gauze plate - all in excellent condition. Also fitted with the correct early scarce pattern oxygen tube with cadmium plated clip and MK.IV brass bayonet connector/cadmium plated crocodile clothing clip as well as the Bell Plug Wiring Loom.
Hard to find set of Mark VII (MK7) flying goggles complete (without flip up sun shield). They are very well marked authentic British WW2 fighter pilot goggles as used by Spitfire and Hurricane pilots. Well marked with King's Crown, over A.M. (Air Ministry) over 22C/826 above 1858. Leather lined with cotton adjustable strap. Complete with an original RAF dark blue paint finish to steel parts, these are exceptionally rare WW2 RAF fighter pilot goggles. Offered in excellent condition.
