Original Cold War Era British, Austrian, & German Training Grenades - L56A1

Regular price $250.00

Item Description

Original Items. Only One Lot of 5 Available. This is a great lot of five training grenades, some being British, one German, and one Austrian. Like all deactivated ordnance, these are Not Available for Export.

The first and most recognizable is a British L56A1 practice grenade, a rubber-bodied practice hand-grenade with a removable fuze assembly allowing the grenade to be used again. This example is in good shape overall.

The next is a small fully steel grenade marked on the bottom PRAC. GREN. NR 282. We cannot find much information on it but we believe it to be British.

The next is a British No 80 WP practice smoke grenade. It is painted blue with very faint white stencil markings, and is in good worn shape overall.

The next appears to be part of a German plastic grenade that utilizes a bottom cap similar in shape to that of the German WWI and WWII Stick grenades, with the same bead and string inside, but there is no head to the grenade. A very strange design!

The last grenade is marked as Austrian but it is broken, with the bottom cap having broken in half and the bead and string falling out. It has the designation KKPR 75 on the side, but we can’t find much information on it.

A very interesting lot of practice grenades, ready for further research and display.
