Item Description
Original item: Only One Available. This interesting 22 bore French-Style fusil is definitely an interesting example. It is almost full stocked like an Officer's Private Purchase weapon, with engraved brass mounts and a patch box to the right side of the butt with a sliding wood lid. The long 45" barrel bears the Continental Belgian E / L G/ * In an oval Liège proof mark and the fusil is 62" in overall length. The forward 8" of the stock has been replaced long ago.
The Flintlock Lock Plate is engraved in script with Goldenstern / London, however the Fusil is made completely in the FRENCH style Circa 1810. We were not able to find much on this maker, so it is possible that they are just the retailer, purchasing Belgian-Made weapons for the British market. Lock functions well, but does not hold at half cock. We checked the bore of this, and it is clear, with some areas of oxidation and light scaling.
