Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This just came out of the attic after a hundred years of storage together with a couple of hundred other guns. It is a heavy old beast of a gun, dating to 1840-1850, with the markings all worn off, so it could have been made in the United States. Made with 28" barrels and measuring 43" in overall length, this is just the sort of DB Shotgun used on Stage Coaches and such up to and during the U.S. Civil War.
Back action percussion locks each have minimal engraved decoration. The left lock shows traces of the makers name, but we are not able to decipher it. Perhaps with more cleaning it would be legible. The shotgun is in good display condition, though there is a crack through the wrist, as shown.
An old War Horse nobody wanted to argue with! Uncleaned and ready to display!
