Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a most interesting little Blunderbuss pistol originating from an old U.S. collection from the 1950's and 1960's, which has remained in storage for over 50 years.
This pistol is of mostly brass construction with a plain sweeping muzzle which opens to a diameter of about 1". It measures 8 1/2" in overall length. Under the barrel there is a folding spike bayonet activated by pulling the trigger guard in the reverse direction. The bayonet blade is just 2 1/2" in length but a welcome weapon once the pistol has been fired.
The wood bag shaped grip shows very tarnished brass or silver wire decorative inlay that should shine up nicely. There is a push/pull safety on the rear of the cock, however there is no engraving evident on the pistol whatsoever including Maker's name or Country of origin. It almost certainly originates in France or Belgium, which was controlled by Napoleon Bonaparte at the time.
Most attractive, fully working in as found uncleaned condition from over 50 years storage. Ready to display
