Original European French-Style Percussion Pocket Pistol circa 1840-1850

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This came to us from a Collection that was put together in the 1950's and 1960's and remained in storage ever since. It is a truly charming small Percussion Pocket Pistol with an overall length of 7 3/4", certainly Continental and very likely of French origin. This features a fold away trigger that only appears once the hammer is cocked. It has a 3 1/4" screw-off barrel with a rifled bore of approximately 7/16". The frame bears deeply engravings with foliage motifs and others.

The grip is made of Ebony and is fluted in the French style. The gun dates from 1840-1850 and was used for personal defense.

In lovely display condition.
