Original Item: Only One Available. WWI German Blasting Machine Detonator. As used to set of explosive charges by engineers (pioneers) of the Imperial German Army during WWI. This is the first of these we have ever encountered. A very heavy item, weighing in at almost twelve pounds, and measuring approximately 8.5”x 3.75” x 5”. German markings include “Zunden” (Ignite), “Leitung” (for lead connectors), “Aufziehen” (To wind up), “Prufen” (Test). The base of the machine has a number, 52735, while the door of the device is numbered 13352, and has an unknown maker mark (Letter S and letter I crossing one another). There is remnants of a carrying strap attached to the top of the device. Both original winding keys are present.
