Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful Model 1938 Fallschirmjäger helmet offered at a very affordable price. Here's why; the shell is 100% genuine as is the liner and the liner bolts. The chinstrap and decal are post war replacements. This helmet was restored at some point and somebody added new chinstrap and a crisp decal both of which have been aged to appear authentic.
The all original shell still has original dark green finish paint. It is in near excellent condition with no damage or dents.
The interior features a soft, brown leather liner is size 56 (7 US). It is well marked and produced by Heisler. It is nicely ink stamped with maker and size markings of the liner (58) and the shell (68) as follows:
Kopfweite: Gr. 56
Stahlhelm: Gr. 68
Baumuster: Heisler, Berlin G2
Hersteller: F.W. Müller Jr.
Seen between the liner band the liner itself are the complete seven charcoal foam pads; the entire assembly is attached to the shell via four correct wartime original bolts.
The chinstrap harness is post war produced and aged to appear authentic. It is in excellent fully functional condition.
The rear of the skirt is stamped with a steel lot number but the size stamp over the left ear was struck lightly and is no longer visible. However, all paratrooper helmets were produced by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale. This example is a shell size 68 and was produced some time in 1940 - 1944.
A fantastic mostly original example, with all the correct features and in prime condition offered a 1/2 what a full original helmet would cost!
