Original Item: Only One Available. 1936 Officers pattern Tschako with police green wool body and black trim. Has very fine quality police officer eagle. The cockade dismissing and we think the leather chinstrap is an old reproduction. Nevertheless this is a very nice Polizei helmet (shako) as used by the metropolitan police, unlike some of the more common ones found trimmed in brown for rural police, this one is with black trim for the metropolitan police.
Interior is good with supple leather liner that has some minor damage but is otherwise complete. Size is approximately 7 1/4 (58cm). Overall it shows only minor wear, the black lacquered finish on the front and rear visor are very nice, the wool has no moth or no holes. Vents are absent the wire mesh and only one side has a functional slider. Overall a nice looking rare officer’s Shako offered at a great price!
