Item Description
Original Item: Only One Lot of 2 Available. These are very nice German WWII Naval-issue black pebble-grain leather triple Patronentaschen (ammunition pouch), designed to hold stripper clips for the Mauser k98K rifle. This was the standard German infantry rifle throughout WWII for all forces, even the Kriegsmarine / Navy. These pouches would be attached to the waist belt, and would be attached to combat suspenders using the rings on the back. Each pocket holds two stripper clips of 5 rounds, so each pouch holds 6 clips, or 30 rounds.
The pouches are in very good, service used condition, and do not have any major stitching or leather issues. The leather does show some wear to the texture, but nothing major, and there are scuffs and overall wear. The internal separators are still present in one of the pouches, and all of the early war pattern aluminum rivets and snaps are sound. The pouch is fitted with a "D" ring on the back, and steel rivet studs on the bottom.
The back of the pouches are maker marked but very difficult to read on one, we can make out the 1942 date on the one pouch. These markings can be hard to see due to the pebble grain texture. It also has a clear EAGLE / M marking, indicating issue to the German Kriegsmarine (Navy). Rifles were still needed and kept on board, especially for landing parties.
This is a great chance to pick up a rare Navy marked k98K triple ammo pouch! Ready to display with your 98K rifle!
