Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show, is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner. The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.
The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a printed black swas (hook cross) in white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. Around this is a stitched on light canvas square white border, and there is a white rayon fringe sewn onto the bottom. It measures 30 1/2" x 46" not counting the fringe on the bottom, and there is no hanging slot on the top, so it was most likely intended to be attached directly to the podium.
The banner is offered in very good condition, and does not look to have seen much use at all. There are no tears or similar damage to the banner from wear. There is however age toning on the white components of the flag, which also show small stains in areas. The stitching is all secure, however some strands of the fringe are starting to come loose.
A very nice example, ready to add to your collection!
