Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show, is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner. The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.
The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a black swas (hook cross) painted / printed onto a white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. This banner is a simplified design, so there is no white border around the central circle, and there is a fringe on the bottom, which feels like cotton. It measures 38" x 31", not counting the fringe on the bottom. There is no header or hanger rings on the banner, however we can see holes at the top where tacks were used to secure it to the podium.
The banner is offered in very good condition, looking to have seen only light use during the NSDAP period. The stitching is all secure, as far as we can tell. There is also a small paper label stapled to the bottom, which is torn and illegible.
A very nice service used example, ready to add to your collection!
