Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful example of the “throw away” rocket launcher as used by German forces during WWII. The rocket is also an inert example and is totally inert. The tube has been demilitarized and rendered inoperable according to the current BATF standards governing this type of ordnance.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
Panzerfaust 30 klein ("small") or Faustpatrone (Translated literally to mean: Tank Fist Small) was the original version of the Panzerfaust. First delivered in August 1943 with a total weight of 3.2 kilograms (7.1 lb) and overall length of 98.5 cm (38.8 in). The 30 was indicative of the nominal maximum range of 30 m (33 yd). It had a 3.3 cm (1.3 in) diameter tube containing 54 grams (1.9 oz) of black powder propellant launching a 10 cm (3.9 in) warhead carrying 400 g (14 oz) of explosive. The projectile traveled at just 30 m (98 ft) per second and could penetrate 140 mm (5.5 in) of armor.
This ingenious throw away Rocket and Launcher was one of AH's last ditch weapons adopted by the NSDAPs to try and repel the invading Allies on both the Eastern and Western fronts. "Most authors agree that production of the Panzerfaust Klein was halted somewhere in early 1944, due to its insufficient penetration of armor and replaced by the larger model."
The original leaf sight is present though is extremely delicate and is a small bit loose. The tube is present but none of the trigger assembly is present. The rocket head has been emptied of explosive and the propellant, as found in the tube, has been discarded. The tip of the rocket is too heavily oxidized and part of the tip is gone. Some original paint remains on the head but it is mostly covered by oxidation. The rocket does not insert completely into the tube and has about a ½ inch of space. The rocket itself retains most of its inner tube but none of the fins are present. There is a bit of wood left at the end but it is very worn
The tube itself still retains some of the original paint and no longer has the red stencil markings. There is space on the side which appears to have been sanded down during the demilitarization process.
Here is a very rare chance to own an original panzerfaust 30 klein rocket and launcher set.
